Describe the issue we've chosen- Kids are coming to school hungry and tired

Think about the big picture action that we will do to save this issue- Well we are cooking sausages and giving them away for free at the tuck shop

Medical marijuana should be legalised English

 Medical marijuana can help with mental disorders. On   https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-distracted-couple/201502/adhd-and-weed-what-s-the-draw it states in 2014 that marijuana helps make people with ADHD more focus and have a more positive mindset. It tells us all about how marijuana is good for people with ADHD and how it helps in many different ways. 

Marijuana can be used to relieve pain. People use marijuana in their everyday life to relieve their pain in their bodies. Patrick Stewart states on  http://people.com/,  that he uses medical marijuana for arthritis on his hands. Using the cannabis spray, ointments and edibles take all the pain away. 

Marijuana helps with stress. Professor Emily Childs stated, at www.medicalnewstoday.com, that only a few puffs of cannabis can help with your stress. THC is one of many ingredients in marijuana, and THC is what helps relieve your stress.  

(All zoos should be shut down) English writing

All zoos should be shut down and all animals should be let back into their natural habitat? No, I don't think that animals in the zoo should be let out back into their habitats.

Majority of why animals are in the zoo is because their species are endangered or they've become sick or injured and now can't survive in the wild again and their homes could've been destroyed. The zoo is only trying to help out and keep the species alive for many many more years.

The zoo people try their best at making the animals enclosures like they would feel, look, and smell like as if they were still in their habitat.

Drug Use In Sport English

Drugs should be allowed in sports, no I don’t think they should. Drugs are very dangerous and harmful towards people’s bodies. Athletes and other people who use drugs for exercise and more should be very careful about what they use.

Drugs have many side effects and can cause so many health problems for your body now and for the future, it may seem like a good idea at the time because it's giving you more chance to win at the sport, game, whatever you’re doing, but it's it a good when you’re suddenly addicted to using drugs and cannot live a day without them?

Creative Writing English

Netball is a tough sport…. but have you ever tried playing in a final netball game with a buckle fractured elbow? Well i have, it's not the greatest thing to do, it was a challenge! When i was 11, on a hot Saturday at Hagley park,  we had to get ready for our final game, we needed to win!! While warming up we did a drill and silly old me fell over and landed on my arm. I was in a lot of pain so i didn't play the first quarter. The coach put me on for the second quarter but there was nothing i could do, my arm was so weak.

We really needed to win this game, with me being injured and not being able to play it left the team with no subs, so it was them and if anyone else got injured we would have to default.

We were all very excited for this game but also very nervous! We knew we were a good enough team to pull through and have a great game.

The team went ahead and played an awesome game in the hot heat!!

Our team won the finals, we won by 2 points, it was a very close game. We all had to go up to the Christchurch netball committee and collect our medals and certificates.

I knew we weren't the best netball team, but we did stay positive and kept a good thinking mind.

SEXXXY 1

When the greasers come onto johnny and he stabbed Bob.


We see this when Johnny and … were at the park together and a mustang parks up near them, bob and a few of the other socs come out and try to drown them so Johnny got the switchblade and stabbed Bob.

This shows the anger between both gangs. This makes the audience feel anxious for what is going to happen next.

This was done to show the hatred between both gangs, and show what some of the outcomes are when they do fight.

This reminds me of a scene on shortland street when t.k was taken hostage, he got away and killed the kidnapper and left him there to die.

SEXXXY 2

In the story when the church caught on fire and Ponyboy and Johnny save the kids.

We see this when Ponyboy and Johnny are driving around, they see black smoke from afar, they choose to follow it, it leads to a church on fire with still some young kids left inside. Ponyboy and Johnny leaped out of the car and ran into the church to get the kids out.

This shows that PonyBoy and Johnny aren't all bad people because they put their lives in danger to save the kids.

This was done to show what the real Ponyboy and Johnny were like, kind people with loving hearts.

This reminded me of the London fires that happened yesterday.

SEXXXY 3

When Johnny dies in the hospital.

We see this when Johnny is in the hospital because of his burns and injuries from the fire.

This makes the audience feel upset because a hero that saved many kids died.

This was done to show that he put his life in danger to save kids and he didn't care about the consequences of dying when he was in the church.

This reminds me of when a patient on the show code black, dies.

SEXXXY 4

When  Ponyboy and Johnny cut all their hair off and dye it

We see this after they run away and start to live in an abandon place, they cut and dye it so they look different as they killed bob, and the police and public will be out looking for them.

This makes the audience more intrigued to the movie and get more excited about what's going to happen next.

The purpose of this was so that the police wouldn't find them and so people wouldn't dob them in for killing Bob.

Blog

What have i learnt from digital technology-Iv'e learnt a lot of things in dte iv'e learnt how to make things on scratch, how to do coding, learnt a lot of stuff about Matariki and ergonomics.

What i enjoyed-I enjoyed making things on scratch and learning about heaps of new things, also i enjoyed working with Leticia working on our unicorn flappy bird stuff.

What would i have changed-i would've liked to learn to do better on scratch because a lot of the time i did the wrong stuff for my things i made and it got so frustrating not doing this properly so i'm just going to focus on getting better.

The outsiders heading

WANTED! Ponyboy and Johnny do a runner after murdering Bob Sheldon. This incident happened at early hours in the morning around 3:30am at the park. They stabbed him after the socs attacked Johnny and Ponyboy and came onto them. They both have browny black hair and their ages are 14 and 16. They belong to the gang called the greasers. They could have weapons and are probably dangerous so do not approach them either call the police using 911 or go into the nearest police station as soon as possible. There could be money as a reward but not sure. Keep a look out!

SEXXXY 1 A low angle shot shows sargent boorman standing over geel piet, who’s injured on the ground This show that sargent boorman has all the power over geel piet in the shot The purpose of this was to show the hatred that sargent boorman had for geel piet The director did this to show the fear of geel piet in his eyes and show sargent boorman hatred towards the blacks SEXXXY 2 In this scene they use low angle and close up shots effectively when p.k got slapped across the face This shows that p.k is frightened and scared of bother This makes the audience understand that p.k was hurt, frightened and scared of bother The purpose of this shot was to show that bother was an abusive and aggressive person who gave p.k a lot of stress and grief hit p.k a lot This shot relates to later in the movie when p.k met his true love SEXXXY 3 In the scene where p.k buries his chicken they used a close up to show the expressions on p.k’s face This showed the p.k was very upset of his beloved chicken It makes the audience see that one of p.k’s favourite people/pet has died and hes very sad about it The purpose of this shot was to show the looks and expressions on p.k’s face This shot relates to later in the movie when Geel Piet is beaten to death SEXXXY 4 In the scene where p.k is fighting against his opponent and sees maria it's shows a close up of both of there faces It shows both of their emotions to each other and shows This makes the audience see the two lock eyes and talk whilst p.k is on the ground after being punched in the face in the ring The purpose of this shot was to show people the looks and communication of both of them

That that universe started off with a big bang! 
The origin of the name was a joke to make the theory sound stupid.

Introduction

Catch ‘em: ‘The Power of One’ by John.G.Avildsen was inspirational and heartwarming film.

Thesis: There were many methods used to engage the audience, such as symbolism, flashbacks, foreshadowing and non diegetic sound.

List of points/statements:

1S An elephant symbolised  courage and strength.

E When P.K met the medicine man, he saw an elephant come charging towards him in a trance.

X This shows P.K’s courage as he did not run away scared, but reached out to touch it.

X The director uses this method to engage us as an elephant killed P.K’s father earlier on.

X This combined with the dialogue’ i faced the biggest animal on the planet, now i'm not afraid anymore, shows his new courage

2S As well as symbolism, flashback was used to engage the audience

E This was demonstrated by by P.K getting knocked down by Gideon Duna and he saw the elephant again

X This shows that despite being knocked down, he recognises his courage through through the elephant

X The flashback combines well with music which made it more powerful

Y This reminds me of the flashback in ‘The Grudge’ which, like P.K’s flashback, made it more dramatic

E When Maria left the house, it was raining and it hinted that something bad was going to happen

X This combined well with the pathetic fallacy of the rain, and showed us her fate was grave, and its purpose was to make it more interesting for the audience

Home ec chicken patties

Home ec burgers

Basic Hamburger Recipe

Ingredients - Serves 4

• 250g lean beef or lamb mince

• 1 small onion, finely chopped

• 1 egg

• 1cup soft white breadcrumbs

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 2 tsp oil

Method

1. Mix the mince, onion, egg, breadcrumbs and seasonings

together.

2. Using wet hands shape into 4 flat patties of equal size.

3. Heat oil in a frying pan, add patties and cook for about 5

minutes each side or until cooked through.

4. Serve between buns or bread with desired fillings.

Home ec fried rice

FRIED RICE

Ingredients

• 1 cup long grain white rice
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
• 2 bacon rashers, chopped
• 1 carrot, peeled and grated
• 2 shallots, trimmed, finely sliced
• 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce, plus extra to serve

Method

1. Cook the rice in a large saucepan of boiling water for 12 minutes or until tender. Drain and leave to cool ( http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-cook-rice-on-the-stove-44333).
2. Prepare vegetables and bacon: Chop bacon. Peel and grate carrot. Finely slice shallots.
3. Using a whisk, lightly beat eggs in a small bowl. Heat oil in non-stick wok or large frying pan over medium heat. Add eggs. Swirl over base to form an omelette. Cook 2 minutes. Turnover. Cook 2 minutes until set. Transfer to a chopping board. Set aside to cool slightly. Cut into short strips.
4. Add bacon to wok. Cook 4 minutes until light golden. Add carrot. Stir fry 1 minute. Add shallots, peas and rice. Cook, stirring, 3-4 minutes. Add egg and soy sauce. Stir until heated through. Serve immediately, with extra soy.
